This year, our GPC Sunday School kids are on a mission to help the vulnerable groups right here in Singapore! We will be saving up our pocket monies daily for the next 1 month to bless the following 2 groups of people
1. Frail and homebound seniors
Through the Dorcas Home Care programme setup since 1992, we aim to support frail and homebound seniors to age-in-place. This means they can continue living in the community and not be institutionalized in nursing home.
a. Meals on Wheels was started with people helping to deliver meals to elderly.
b. Medical Escort helps with transportation for elderly to go for their medical appointment.
c. Presbyterian Community Services, PCS, is the only service provider that does not charge the elderly for both Meals on Wheels, and Medical Escort and Transport.
2. Special Needs Education
The Presbyterian Community Services, PCS, launched the Post-18 Educarer Aide Training on 1 February 2020. This new training initiative is for those who have graduated from Special Education Schools and desire to be trained and move into a career track in the early childhood sector. This training journey will last for 6 months, for the students to be formally trained as Educarer Aides.
