Our Campaign Storyends 31 Jul 2020, 11:59 PM
This year's July 9th marks BTS official fandom 7th birthday, as ARMY were born on July 9 of 2013. BTS fans celebrates our anniversary ARMY Day on July 9 by spreading positivity, unity, and love.
On behalf of BTS ARMYs around the world we would like to give hope and spread love to our migrant workers who are an essential part of Singapore's infrastructure expansion. They have built roads and homes, helped to set up vital infrastructure, kept our neighbourhoods clean, and more.
Unfortunately their cares, needs and well-being has been significantly neglected in our community. The COVID19 pandemic has recently shed light on the issues that our migrant workers community has been/are currently facing. There has also been an increasing number of COVID-19 cases among the migrant worker community. Undervalued and underpaid our essential service workers deserve better.
We aim to raise funds for Migrant Workers Assistant fund under MWC, our chosen charity organisation. We chose MWC as we resonate with their mission which is "To champion fair employment practices and the well-being of migrant workers in Singapore."
We hope to have your support & seek your kind generosity in giving back to the migrant worker community.
About The Charity
The Migrant Workers' Assistance Fund (MWAF) is the humanitarian charity of the Migrant Workers' Centre (MWC). MWC assists migrant workers redress employment disputes and furthers education and awareness among them of their employment rights. MWC also promotes migrant workers' social integration as well as their harmonious co-existence with Singaporeans at the workplace and beyond. As case assistance for migrant workers is frequently accompanied by follow-on issues with housing, food and other subsistence costs, the MWAF was set up in 2012 (IPC-certified in 2014) to fund all humanitarian and emergency assistance rendered to MWC case clients - if their employers fail to discharge the duty to care for and protect their own workers. The MWAF allows the MWC to cover and protect vulnerable workers up till their outstanding matters are resolved and concluded, and is a key resource for the MWC in providing proper and adequate help to distressed and victimized migrant workers in Singapore.
