Our Campaign Story

ends 20 Mar 2023, 11:59 PM

Dear all,

On February 6, 2023, at 04:17, Turkiye woke up to a dark day. One of the deadliest in the history of the country, two earthquakes of magnitudes 7.8 and 7.5 hit central Turkiye, affecting nearby countries such as Syria and many cities where some 15 million people live.

In order to support those impacted by the earthquake, the NTU Graduate Students' Association and the Red Cross Youth NTU Chapter have joined forces to launch an online fundraising campaign under Singapore Red Cross's fundraiser on Giving.sg.

We aim to raise S$ 20,000 as a humanitarian response during this online fundraising campaign which ends on March 20th.

We sincerely ask for your help in this valuable cause. The fundraiser is 100% online and all donations, made through the Giving.sg platform, will go towards the Singapore Red Cross's fundraising appeal. We hope you would consider making a donation during this time of need, and share it with your friends as well to raise more funds.

Thank you for your kind consideration.

Regards,
NTU GSA and RCY NTU

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of lives and injury, as well as damage to property and livelihoods, arising from the devastating disaster, and are committed to supporting the emergency relief and recovery operations," said Mr Benjamin William, Secretary General/CEO of Singapore Red Cross, "We hope the people of Singapore will support our fundraising appeal, to bring hope and help to affected communities in Turkey and Syria."
