Our Campaign Story
ends 25 Jul 2022, 11:59 PMA year-long project was carried out to raise funds for SPD in 2018. We were a group of aspiring students who wanted to extend our help to society as much as we could together with our school club, Service-Learning Club. Through the club we had various experiences that allowed us to learn and enrich ourselves with knowledge and awareness regarding the various societies in Singapore.
Hence, we did our best by creating a maze to allow the students of our school to experience first hand how people with disabilities carry out their day-to-day activities. Regretfully, we were not able to make it a larger scale maze but nonetheless we felt that our intentions and message were delivered to the intended audience. Majority of the citizens were willing to help donate by purchasing items we had prepared. Most were even willing to hear us out, allowing us to raise awareness regarding people with disabilities and their struggles. Some were so kind they provided us with treats :) It was really heartwarming to see how giving the citizens of Singapore are.
Through this project we were able to gain more knowledge and experience and it was a We will continue to support SPD and people with disabilities through our own ways as we set on our own paths. We hope you could join us by donating to this fundraiser! Thank you :)

About The Charity
SPD is a local charity set up in 1964 to help people with disabilities maximise their potential and be a part of mainstream society.
We are here to help children and youths with special needs reach for the stars and be the best that they can be through early intervention and educational support.
We strive to boost the self-reliance and mobility of persons with disabilities within the community, and we do so through therapy services, assistive technology and the support and encouragement of our care team.
Our day care programmes provide respite to families, making it possible for persons with disabilities to stay with their loved ones at home for as long as possible without having to resort to institutional care.
A strong advocate for inclusive employment, we train people with disabilities and work with them to seek suitable employment opportunities so that they can be financially independent and lead a full and engaged life.
After more than 50 years, we remain focused and committed to enabling people with disabilities.
