Support our fundraiser by donating to SPMF!
Over the past 60 years, Eastern Pacific Shipping has grown to be one of Singapore's leading tonnage providers. Our growth is attributed to our people, our partners, and the communities where we operate. To show our gratitude, we have launched the EPS Care Initiative as a way to give back.
This year we have identified seven charities (six Singaporean and one international) that we want to support, including SPMF!
To provide these charities with the required funds to operate, we have organised a fundraiser that will see our sea and shore teams attempt to walk, run, or cycle 40,075 kilometres collectively! Why 40,075? This is roughly Earth's circumference, so together, we want to Walk, Run, or Cycle Around the World for Charity!
On December 11, 2020, EPS will donate S$6 for every kilometer walked, ran, or cycled by EPS employees until we reach 40,075km. This fundraiser has been approved by the Singapore Tote Board and qualifies for the dollar to dollar matching scheme under the SG Fortitude Budget for up to S$250,000 for the six Singapore-based charities. But we need your help! Companies and individuals looking to support our fundraiser are encouraged to use this campaign to donate to SPMF. Any amount is appreciated and will make a difference!
About The Charity
The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund provides pocket money to children from low-income families to help them through school. The children can use this money for school-related expenses, such as buying a meal during recess, paying for transport or using it to meet other schooling needs. The financial help also eases the burden of the many parents who are already struggling to feed their families on their meagre incomes.
The Fund supports about 10,000 children and youth a year. Since the year 2000, the Fund has disbursed more than $80m and helped over 180,000 children and youth.
STSPMF disburses the funds to needy students through participating mainstream schools and disbursing agencies such as Youth Centres, Family Service Centres (FSCs), Special Education (SPED) schools, VWOs working with persons with disability, specialised schools, Children's Homes and PAVE.
STSPMF is a charity with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.
