Our Campaign Story

ends 12 Aug 2017, 11:59 PM

In 2015 alone, natural disasters killed more than 16,000 people in Asia Pacific, with some 59.3 million displaced or severely impacted.

While it feels distant to us here in Singapore, we can nevertheless do something about it.

Last year, Edelman Singapore represented by its 20 runners raised more than $1,500 for this cause. Everyone - from all our staff to their family and friends - contributed in some way, shape or form, which made the fundraising and the run even more meaningful.

This year, we return with even more runners and an even higher fundraising aim of $5,000 for Mercy Relief's Ground Zero Run for Humanity. While some of our staff will be taking part in the 5km and 10km races, some of us will be raising funds internally and externally, and some of us will dabble in both!

The run will take place on Sunday, 13 August 2017 and we hope to see you at the starting line!

About Campaign

Ground Zero Run for Humanity is back on 13 August 2017.

This year, Mercy Relief and its partners are hoping to reach out to more people and have also increased the kids dash to 1KM. Through this meaningful, family-friendly event, Mercy Relief hopes to encourage a sense of compassion and empathy in our next generation. We believe kids can never be too young to make a difference.

Held in observance of World Humanitarian Day, Mercy Relief aims to celebrate the indomitable human spirit as we stand in solidarity with the survivors who have inspired humanitarian work around the world.

The race is not simply a run, but instead challenges participants to take on some of the challenges faced by survivors as they struggle to obtain relief supplies in the aftermath of a disaster. Upon completion all relief packs from the event will be distributed to local families in need in partnership with The Foodbank Singapore.

We are proud to announce The Hour Glass as our official title sponsor for Ground Zero Run for Humanity. See you at the starting line.
