Our Campaign Story

ends 07 Nov 2021, 11:59 PM

Rev. See Swee Fang and her husband oversee the Dunamis Hostel ministry in Timor-Leste. All hostelites (residents) leave their farming families in the rural mountains of Emera to study in the local university, or seek internship opportunities in the capital, Dili.
13 hostelites will run 40 km on 23rd October 2021 to raise $3,000 for the Methodist Welfare Services (MWS). They have been blessed through the Methodist Mission Society (MMS), Singapore and are participating in MWS Empowerun, is their way of sharing God's blessings with others. Our hostelities are grateful to God and desire to live their lives giving glory to God.
They seek your empowerment to raise $3,000 in MWS Empowerun. Partner with them by giving generously as the hostelities run each step to give glory to God and be a blessing to those in need.

About The Charity

Methodist Welfare Services (MWS) is all about empowering people to have life to the full.

The people we serve may experience poverty in different ways - weak social support or fractured relationships, poor health, a sense of hopelessness, or a lack of means. We journey alongside them to uncover their inherent strengths, affirm them and support them holistically towards a better life.

Our island-wide suite of 22 centres and outreach programmes include casework, counselling and therapy; medical and rehabilitative care; home-based, community-based and residential care; a debt clearance and asset building scheme; and other services.

Founded in 1981, MWS is an Institution of a Public Character and a member of the National Council of Social Service. As a Christian non-profit organisation, we serve people across all ethnicities and religions. Today, we serve over 9,000 low-income and distressed families, disadvantaged children, at-risk youth, the chronically ill, frail and destitute, and the socially isolated.
