PUT SINGAPORE ON THE WORLD MAP
About Campaignends 22 Oct 2016, 12 AM
The Association struggled hard to raise funds and managed to organise the inaugural National Deaf Games in March 2015 and saw a total of 143 participants registering for the Games.
More recently, in order to send a small team of five delegates to the 8th Asia Pacific Deaf Games in Taoyuan, China, the volunteers at DSA worked late into the night to raise funds and prepare the paperwork for this event.
But do you know, that even though Singapore has participated in numerous international Deaf Sports Games, we have not won a gold medal?
We hope that with your generous donation and support, we will be able to meet our objectives to develop deaf sports in Singapore, and perhaps to bring home our very first gold medal for our country. Please join us in making history.
Deaf Sports Association (Singapore) serves as the national body for sports relating to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. DSA is affiliated to the International Committee of Sports for the Deaf (ICSD) and Asia Pacific Deaf Sports Confederation (APDSC) where we are given the opportunity to represent Singapore and participate in the major games such as Deaflympics and Asia Pacific Deaf Games, both of which are held every four years. The SEA Deaf Games is a new major sports event that may soon be added to our line-up. DSA supports the person who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing in the area of sports and provides them with training programmes to prepare them for the major games. The mission is to see them achieve their ambitions in sports through equal opportunities and to bring pride to our community.
