The Dover Park Hospice Road Show, themed "Better Care, Better Community," will unify numerous healthcare providers and partners, including Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH); Agency for Integrated Care (AIC); Volunteers from the Bukit Batok Community Club; and well as several VWOs located in Bishan Junction 8; such as Women's Initiative for Ageing Successfully (WINGS), Singapore Cancer Society, and Focus on the Family.
This Road Show will be a departure from the yearly Open House that we conduct on-premises, as we feel that it is crucial that we proactively reach out to the Community; to inform and educate, particularly to those who are terminally-ill and for those suffering from advanced dementia. Such services are crucial for our rapidly-greying population who will require Palliative Care/ End-of-Life care.
About The Charity
Dover Park Hospice was founded in 1992 as a secular, nonprofit organisation to meet the growing need in Singapore for hospice care for terminally-ill patients. It is Singapore's first purpose-built hospice, designed to provide a serene environment close to nature.
Open to everyone regardless of age, race, religion or income level, Dover Park Hospice is dedicated to meeting the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those who are nearing the end of life's journey. The goal is to enhance the living, comfort the dying and support the grieving with compassion and dignity.
To cover its operating expenditure which is estimated at $18.3 million per year, Dover Park Hospice relies a lot on fundraising activities and kind donations from generous well-wishers and corporations.
