How Your Donation Makes a Difference
Your donation of S$10 will go towards the care and maintenance of the dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs as well as other small animals at our new Adoption Centre.
Your donation of S$50 will aid us in the sterilisation of a community ( ie. stray) animal as sterilisation is the most humane and effective method of controlling the animal population.
Your donation of S$100 will go towards providing an inspiring setting for children and adults, to learn about various animal welfare issues and how they can do more to help at our Education Centre.
Your donation of S$200 will go towards a purpose-built clinic and surgery that will enable us to care for the shelter animals while providing rehabilitative services for animals in need.
Our Campaign Storyends 31 Jul 2016, 11:59 PM
I've been thinking that I would like to do something meaningful for my 32ed birthday on 31st July and talked to my friend about it. My friend gave me this idea that raising a fund and ask my friends donations instead of giving me a birthday gift! I love the idea and believe that it will make my birthday really special!!
Our mission of championing animal welfare started in the 1800s when a group of animal lovers endeavored to provide community animals with protection from cruelty. In the 1940s, the rebirth of RSPCA, as we were known then, began in a residential area in Tomlinson Road, before setting up formally in the 1950s in Orchard Road. In 1984, SPCA moved to the premises at Mount Vernon, which has been our home for the past 31 years.
Through our adoption programme, more than 30,000 animals have found homes. Our sterilisation voucher programme has provided free sterilisations for community animals, resulting in a marked decreased in their numbers today.
The SPCA is about to embark on a new chapter with its move to the premises at Sungei Tengah. We envision the facility to be a sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals. With an expanded veterinary clinic, we plan to focus on care and rehabilitation for animals in need.
About The Charity
The SPCA is a registered non-profit animal welfare charity with IPC status, and our two main objectives are to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals.
Relying mainly on kind donations from the public and fundraising, the Society does not receive any government funding or grants, to support the shelter and clinic, inspectorate work and animal rescue services, as well as other initiatives such as our foster care programme, sterilisation programme for community animals, and education and outreach efforts.
Over 100 animals are taken in by the Society every month. Most of these animals are abandoned, unwanted, abused, sick/injured or lost. Our officers have rescued numerous animals, like Gemma, Aiden and Cookie, across Singapore (see above video).
To carry out our animal welfare work, we require over S$2,400,000 annually.
You can make a difference to the animals.
Your kind donation will directly impact upon our operations in providing shelter, food, medical attention and love to the rescued animals that walk through our doors each day.
Your donations are eligible for 250% tax deduction.
