Our Campaign Story

ends 25 Jun 2022, 11:59 PM

As I turn 39 (last year in my 30s!) on Monday 13th June, I would like to continue my birthday tradition of giving. In the last 2 years, proceeds raised were donated to children from vulnerable and less privileged background. This year, I would like to raise funds and dedicate the proceeds to Extra.Ordinary People, a registered charity organization (201719854W). I will be starting the campaign with a personal donation of $8,000 and hope to raise $20,000 for Extra.Ordinary People.

Founded in 2017, Extra.Ordinary People aims to support every person with special needs in Singapore through community-supported initiatives to strive for an inclusive society.

The charity supports both individuals with special needs as well as their care givers through Group Programmes and Individual Therapy ranging from Art Psychotherapy, Educational, Music, Speech and Occupational Therapy.

The main objective is to teach essential life skills that will equip and prepare the individuals to live independently and integrate into society. Extra.Ordinary People provides essential engagements and explores opportunities of enterprise and for those work able and ready, to be trained and be placed in open employment where they will be closely supported.

Hope you can lend your support to Extra.Ordinary People to give hope and confidence to the special needs community as we grow together as one team, one community.

Thank you.
Darren

About The Charity

We are a registered charity and Institute of Public Character (IPC) that enables, supports and seeks to empower persons with special needs through community-supported initiatives. We adopt a team-based approach towards enabling and empowering individuals with special needs to live independently, be work ready, work able and sustain employment, working closely and supporting the inner and outer circles within each special needs individual's ecosystem.

Another of our focus is to showcase how art and music can be a catalyst and an evolving robust platform that will allow diverse voices and perspectives to be heard. Through community-supported initiatives, we use art and music as a powerful medium to transform lives and build resilience at individual, family and community levels.

Our Vision:
