Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Oct 2020, 11:59 PM

Central Provident Fund Board (CPFB) has been a sponsor of St John's Home for Elderly Persons. We are now running a fundraising campaign for the St John's Home for Elderly Persons to help the Home raise funds for the building of a new home for its residents. Donations raised will be channelled through NCSS' Community Chest to the Home. CPFB would like to appeal to your generosity to help build a new home for the elderly residents.

Since the Home started operations in December 1958, they are located at 69 Wan Tho Avenue. In 2015, the Government granted the Home a fresh 30-year lease which will expire in December 2045, on a reduced land area of 3,300sqm. Concurrently, they also entered into a three-plus-three year tenancy agreement on the remaining 8,924sqm land area that they are currently occupying. The Home is now building a new 5-storey building on the 30-year lease land, not just to maximise the plot ratio for the land, but also increase its licensed capacity to 150 elderly residents. As of June 2020, an additional funding of $3.4M is required. Construction began in November 2018 with target completion in March 2021.

Your kind donations will be greatly appreciated as the Home is dependent on public donations to build a new home for its elderly residents.
