In this Year of Mercy, this campaign brings together like-minded and musically-inclined individuals to lend their God-given talent toward benefiting others.
We will be putting up a small recital to share beloved sacred choral music, a rich Catholic legacy, alongside modern music with the public, and the message behind the Year of Mercy. The repertoire ranges from the likes of classics such as Salve Regina and O Magnum Mysterium to contemporary favourites such as Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and Twila Paris' The Warrior is a Child.
We would also like to be able to help raise awareness of Caritas as a charitable organisation and what it does.
Caritas Singapore is the social mission arm of the Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore. We coordinate and facilitate the Church's social mission, working with 25 Catholic charity and community organisations under our umbrella, whose charitable work cover a broad spectrum of needy in the community, regardless of race, religion or status. This includes the poor, families, youth at risk, children, prisoners, people living with HIV/AIDS, people requiring palliative care, migrant workers, overseas poor, and those who are physically and mentally challenged. Collectively, we serve over 50,000 beneficiaries.
