Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jul 2020, 11:59 PM

Hi I'm Cheryl Miles, Radio DJ and avid home cook. While Covid-19 has affected all of our lives, it has impacted vulnerable groups like low-income families even more. The number of beneficiaries jumped from 6,375, before Covid-19, to 8,500 households as of end June 2020 and is expected to increase in the coming months.

Please help me raise $10k to support Food From The Heart's efforts to provide food packs to the growing number of those who need them.

For just $30 you can purchase a food pack of basic essentials including rice & cooking oil. Your donation will ensure that these Singaporeans have food on their tables and the hope to overcome these challenging times.

As a token of appreciation, you can also download a sample version of my first cookbook, "Smitten in the Kitchen", so you too can cook Food from the Heart for your loved ones. Donations $50 and above are tax deductible.

To appeal to most dietary preferences, the "Smitten in the Kitchen" e-book of 16 recipes, includes vegan dishes and vegan variations for every recipe.

Please note, this ebook is not an automatic download. The organizers will email you the link to download the e-book and password, by the end of each week.

Stay safe and well.

Love,
Cheryl

About Campaign

Every one of us is affected by the current Covid-19 situation. No one is spared. The needy is hit even harder now. As a charity, we are not spared either. We have seen drastic drops in cash and food donations. Every month, we need 80,000 food items to feed the our affected families Food from the Heart is supporting monthly under the Community Food Pack Programme. Your donations cannot stop. Our work continues. This is to assure the needy of food on their table three meals a day. Donate generously to buy food items to help fill our food packs. Together, let's feed the needy in these tough times!

*Note: FFTH applies 12.5% of your donation to keep our operations going.

About The Charity

Food from the Heart is a charity founded in February 2003 by Singapore-based Austrian couple Henry and Christine Laimer, who were inspired to channel surplus food from bakeries to families in need after they read an article about bread wastage.

Today, Food from the Heart is Singapore's foremost independent food charity with IPC status that makes a tangible and meaningful contribution to fighting hunger through bread rations and food packs, and bringing joy through the distribution of toys and birthday celebrations. With the support of donors, food industry partners and more than 10,000 volunteers, Food from the Heart made a difference to the lives of 44,600 people throughout Singapore by distributing S$6.2 million worth of food in 2019.
