Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Aug 2020, 11:59 PM

MWS Bethany Nursing Home has been serving and caring for close to 300 frail and sick elderly residents since 2001. The residents are mainly destitute with little to no family support and have severe medical conditions.

In late 2018, the Home embarked on a Care Remodelling Project that aims to create a 'Home Within the Home' living environment and care experience for the residents. This new model of care is one in which the sick and poor elderly will not only receive medical and nursing care, but also regain more privacy, purpose, and dignity. The project also aims to improve dementia-friendly features and facilities to cater for the increasing incidence of dementia among residents.

Connecting Cycling Superstars (CCS) is raising funds through the LOVE ON WHEELS cycling event on 8 August 2020. CCS is a group of volunteers cum cyclists aged 60 to 85 years old. Since 2017, CCS has volunteered at MWS Bethany Nursing Home spending time playing interactive games with the residents. These cyclists believe that they are never too old to serve and contribute to the community. This year, the cyclists have committed to ride at least 50 km to raise funds for the elderly residents. Support us through our marathon to help improve the quality of life for long-term care seniors through the Home's care remodelling project. Every dollar raised will go towards the project that will enable the residents to feel a greater sense of home and comfort as well as receive better dementia care.
