Our Campaign Story
ends 31 Dec 2017, 11:59 PMPLEDGE IT FORWARD is an initiative driven by The Social Co in support of 51 lesser-known charities. Funds raised are administered by Community Chest.
The Social Co. was founded by Rebekah Lin and Cheryl Chong in 2014. They are the team behind 50 for 50, a youth-led initiative that activated young people to creatively raise funds and bring awareness to lesser-known charities in Singapore. From 2014-2016, in two separate phases, 80 young people managed to mobilise 62 companies and collectively raise SGD4.5 million, as well as raising heaps of awareness for 58 charities in Singapore. They are also the folks behind The Social Pantry, a social enterprise that helps improve employability for people with disabilities.
About Campaign
Pledge it Forward CBP Gives 2017 is a community project jointly initiated by The Social Co and Changi Business Park (CBP), led by corporates. It is aimed at raising awareness of the needs of the underprivileged, and promoting volunteerism and philanthropy among businesses, in support of our shared community.
We believe that charity can also begin at the workplace, and more importantly, that business leaders have the potential to nurture a culture of giving in their organisations and make a difference.
This year, CBP is working with The Social Co. to encourage everyone to make a donation in support of 51 Institutions of Public Character (IPCs) to build strong and resilient families, care for vulnerable seniors, empower children with special needs and youth-at-risk, integrate adults with disabilities into society and support persons with mental health issues.
The Pledge it Forward Initiative aims to raise 10,000 pledges of any amount to get a matching $100,000 donation from an anonymous donor. Funds raised will be managed and disbursed by Community Chest (part of National Council of Social Service) equally amongst 51 social service organisations. 100% of your donations goes towards helping the disadvantaged, as Community Chest's fundraising and operating costs are covered mainly by Tote Board Group, comprising Tote Board, Singapore Pools and Singapore Turf Club.
