Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jan 2021, 11:59 PM

We are raising funds for our community cattos by walking the perimeter of Singapore over four days.

As cat people we hope to see community cats on the way and hopefully raise some funds for them as well.

Here is our plan:

Day 1 - 26 Dec.
Changi Village Hawker Centre - Sunrise View - Bedok Jetty - Bay East Garden Visitor Centre - Artscience Museum

26 Jan 2021 update
Owing to a ridiculous number of blisters and swollen joints, we are pushing the dates of the subsequent legs. The next leg will be on 3 Jan 2021.

2 Jan 2021 update
IT HAS BEEN RAINING ALL YEAR! There is a high chance that we are going to end up having to spread this out over more weeks as a result. We will therefore be extending the campaign period to 30 days till 21 Jan 2021 and increasing our goal to $2500!

Day 2 - 3 Jan
Artscience Museum - Resorts World Sentosa - Southern Most Point of Continent Asia - Henderson Waves - Macdonald's West Coast Park - Jurong Bird Park

Day 3 - to be confirmed (the risk of lightning was too high on our original chosen date of 10 Jan and the grounds we were walking were too flat)
Johor Straits Lighthouse - Sungei Buloh Wetland

Day 4 - to be confirmed
Woodlands jetty - Sembawang Hot Spring - Coney Island (West Entrance) - Lorong Halus Jetty - Changi Village Hawker Centre

About The Charity

Cat Welfare Society is a charity that advocates the harmonious co-existence of humans and cats. We are at the forefront of humane management of the community cat population and educating the importance of responsible cat ownership.

For years, we have campaigned against the destruction of cats by offering a more effective and long term solution - education and sterilisation. As a charity, we function as a network of three staff, ten board members, twenty core volunteers and countless dedicated caregivers, rescuers, fosters and rehomers who work towards the same goal.

We are heavily reliant on donations to continue our work. We are a registered charity with IPC status that is audited annually and we publish our financial reports on our website.

The Cat Welfare Society (CWS) is a Singapore-based society registered under the Societies Act (Cap. 311 of Singapore).

It is also a charity and an institute of public character ("IPC") pursuant to the Charities Act (Cap. 37 of Singapore).

UEN Number: S99SS0144E

Date of Society Registration: 23 October 1999

Date of Charity Registration: 28 June 2004

Current Period of IPC: 09/12/19 to 08/12/20

Donations made to CWS after 8 December 2020 are not eligible for tax deductions. We submitted our application for the renewal of IPC to MCCY on 6 October 2020 and are waiting to hear back on the status of our application.
