I love the idea of “paying it forward”—to do something wonderful for someone first, believing that person will be touched to do something for someone else.
In 2009, a photographer friend and I worked together to raise $66,000 for KKH Health Endowment Fund to support women with cancer who could not afford their treatment.
In 2010 when I was diagnosed, it was the friend I had made at KKH that got me the earliest possible appointment with a breast surgeon. It was at that appointment that cancer became a reality for me, and I had caught it at a very early stage and it saved my life.
Through this, I hope to get everyone to “pay it forward” to Breast Cancer Foundation. Why not Gift It Forward this Christmas? Instead of accepting presents, get them to make a donation on your behalf, or gift a donation for someone you love?
As a secondary effort to this, I will be putting up Christmas goodies for sale. I am pledging all profits to BCF. More information at http://acleanbreast.wordpress.com
