Our Campaign Story

ends 28 Oct 2021, 11:59 PM

This campaign hopes to inspire the younger generation to remember those who have once contributed to the community. The objective of this is to improve the quality of life for Singapore's needy and physically challenged elderly. We hope this can give them a better and comfortable life to live in.

SATA CommHealth being a one-stop provider for affordable healthcare services, its Homecare Services also provides basic support and training to caregivers, with the aim of integrating healthcare, social support and personal care for the poor and
vulnerable elderly.

Your donations will be used to fund this programme as well as other SATA CommHealth's programmes for the needy and seniors.

About Campaign

Our homecare services is a programme that addresses the needs and demands of the immobile, homebound and physically disadvantaged.

The late Mr Lee Choy Teng, aged 80, was one such beneficiary under our Homecare Services. Apart from Parkinson's disease, he also had diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and kidney problems. Due to his many medications, the doctor suggested that he gets help from a charitable organisation.

Our homecare nurse Jia Jia visited and helped him changed the dressing on his wound that was a result of a diabetic ulcer on his left foot. She also pre-packed his medications and pre-loaded his insulin on a fortnightly basis. The attentiveness and caring nature of our nurse has warmed the late Mr Lee's heart, and never failed to bring a smile to his face.

There are many elderlies who are staying alone and are grateful to have homecare nurses tending to their medical conditions as they are homebound and unable to step out of their house. Caring words of encouragement also motivated them to have a more positive outlook in life.

After Mr Lee passed away in March 2021, Madam Lee donated his savings to SATA CommHealth because she was able to see the impact that the organisation made on the lives of vulnerable seniors. She hopes her donation will be able to support more people in similar situations.

Your donations will be used to fund this Homecare Programme, as well as other community services that SATA CommHealth provides.

About The Charity

SATA CommHealth was established in 1947. As an IPC charity, we are Here To Care for the health of seniors and the vulnerable in the community. We serve around 200,000 patients in the medical centres every year, and the proceeds are channelled to help fund our community services.

Our beneficiaries are served through community events, subsidised care at our medical centres as well as home and centre-based services which include homecare, doctors-on-wheels, day rehabilitation centres and Fernvale Community Hub.

We were awarded the Charity Governance Award (Large Charities category) in 2018. For three consecutive years, we were also awarded the Charity Transparency Award by the Charity Council for its exemplary disclosure practices.

We continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting MOH and community partners, in various areas such as providing vaccinations via our Mobile Vaccination Teams and Vaccination Centre, administering ART and PCR swabs and managing patients in our Public Health Preparedness Clinics.
