Our Campaign Story

ends 20 Mar 2022, 11:59 PM

It is common knowledge that Alzheimer's robs people of their ability to remember, but Alzheimer's is "not" just an individual illness, it greatly impacts their loved ones as well.

I was inspired to start a campaign when i came across "DEMENTIA: A POEM" by Thomas Ong and it deeply touched me. Especially with the lines

"There is so much hope to live affably
With friends, neighbours and family
In joy, peace and also in harmony
Till then when we fade away eventually"

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Dementia Singapore continues their efforts to improve the lives of persons with dementia and care partners through their programmes such as Voices for Hope programme and many other services.

Let's support their work, as the organisation hopes to reduce stigma by increasing awareness and understanding of dementia; enabling and involving persons living with dementia to be integrated and accepted in the community.

About The Charity

Dementia Singapore was formed in 1990 as the 'Alzheimer's Disease Association' to better serve Singapore's growing dementia community, increase awareness about dementia, and reduce the stigma surrounding the condition.

As Singapore's leading Social Service Agency (SSA) in specialised dementia care, Dementia Singapore aims to advocate for the needs of people living with dementia and their families; empower the community through capability-building, knowledge and consultancy; and deliver quality, person-centred care innovations.

Dementia Singapore is registered as a company limited by guarantee UEN No. 202111519K.
