Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Aug 2020, 11:59 PM

Each year in Singapore, more than 150 children are newly diagnosed with a critical illness. Together, we can help make a positive impact on their lives.

Since 2002, Make-A-Wish Singapore (MAW) has granted more than 1,500 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. These wishes give the children a positive psychological boost as they undergo their treatment and recovery. Studies show that children who have their wish granted recover better and have fewer hospital readmissions. This campaign aims to raise funds to adopt a wish for a child with a critical illness. The funds raised will contribute to MAW's 'Wishes Are Waiting' Campaign and will benefit from the Government's dollar-for-dollar matching.

About the Wish

'I wish to own an Aftershock gaming laptop!'
This wish is for a positive and cheerful girl who loves pizza and playing Minecraft! She wishes to play Minecraft on a laptop that she can call her own. Currently, she is playing the game using her brother's laptop and is hardly able to enjoy when he needs it back. She also makes daily trips to the hospital for treatment for her brain tumour and is hoping to use the laptop to keep her spirits up when she is warded.

About Neil

I am the CEO of Make-A-Wish Singapore. I started this campaign in a personal capacity as I was inspired by the many wish children who, despite their medical condition, have raised funds to pay it forward so that more children can experience the power of a wish.

About The Charity

Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore creates life-changing wishes for children between the ages of 3-18 years with critical illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
