Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Dec 2018, 11:59 PM

I served in Marymount Centre as Residential Supervisor (RS) for two years. During the time, I tried to love every girl under my care like they were my own nieces. There were bad days; however there was never a day I stopped loving each one as she was. I moved on to other things, but I always thought of "my girls".

Last Friday, 12 Jan 2018, the O levels results were released. Barely an hour later I received a message on Whatsapp, "hi miss martha, So & So here. is it possible to find you to talk about the results?" You see So & So was a resident in Marymount Centre some years ago. Although there was minimal contact after she returned to her family, she turned to her familiar RS when she wanted someone to bounce ideas for her future. When we met the next day, she simply said that it was natural for her to seek my advice. She had invited another of "our girls"along for lunch.

In the journeys I took with them, I've learnt that children know instinctively who loves them unconditionally. I'm glad I did, and still do.

I invite you to share your love with the children in Marymount Centre, by donating your money and/or your time.

About The Charity

Marymount Centre reaches out to vulnerable women and children through its three 24-hour Residential Homes for Children, a 24-hour Crisis Shelter for abused women and their children, and victims of human trafficking, and a Student Care Centre.
We are committed to our mission of empowering lives, restoring rights, upholding dignity, through our core values of compassion, integrity, empowerment, professionalism, and teamwork.
With support from volunteers and donors, we run programmes that are beneficial to the women and children in their often long and arduous journey of healing of their personhood, restoring their sense of dignity and worth, and rebuilding their lives in a safe and loving environment.

Fundraising can help to raise more and change more lives.
