Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jan 2021, 11:59 PM

My name is Justin Tan and I am a team member of the St. Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH) Palliative Care Team. SACH Palliative Care, a service of St. Andrew's Mission Hospital, is healthcare that addresses the needs of patients with life-limiting illnesses. Our multidisciplinary team comprising doctors, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, medical social workers and pastoral care workers, will journey with our patients and their families throughout their stay at SACH. We aim to maintain the best possible quality of life for patients and support their loved ones by celebrating life at every opportunity such as conducting lively music therapy sessions and celebrating festivals.
I am embarking on a journey to complete a 200km run from 19 October 2020 to 25 December 2020 to raise awareness and funds for the work of SACH Palliative Care. Join me on this journey to bring smiles to our patients and support with your giving today!

Update as at 27 November 2020
I have completed the run, a month earlier than planned!

Details of my run is shared on

About The Charity

Out of passion to care for the physical, emotional and social well-being of the community, the St. Andrew's Medical Mission was founded in 1913 by Dr. Charlotte Ferguson-Davie, the wife of the first Anglican Bishop of Singapore who was also a medical doctor herself. Seeing the plight of the local women and children of that time and the lack of medical services for them, Dr. Ferguson-Davie set up a dispensary along Bencoolen Street for the destitute women and children. The Medical Mission continued to meet the locals' needs and thus led to the opening of more dispensaries and eventually, St. Andrew's Mission Hospital in 1923 and St. Andrew's Orthopaedic Hospital in 1939.

Working closely with the Government, SAMH constantly developed its services to meet the relevant needs of our local community at all times. Today, SAMH has under its operation: St. Andrew's Autism Centre, St. Andrew's Community Hospital, St. Andrew's Nursing Home and St. Andrew's Senior Care.
