Our Campaign Story

Update: Completed 42KM+.

Our lives have been changed by COVID-19 and some are finding it harder than others to cope. What started as a health crisis that many thought would go away, it has now impacted economies globally and many lives significantly.

While I am separated by some 9,000 miles from my other half indefinitely, I still have plenty to be thankful for - my general good health and of those dear to me; comfortable home, warm meals and access to technology.

To help rebuild lives, I will complete (read: walk) 42.195km in the Standard Chartered Home Run - a virtual marathon and running event to raise funds for COVID-19 economic recovery.

Very happy to volunteer my time and fundraise for this worthy endeavour, and I hope you will support my effort with a donation on my page. All voluntary and any amount is much appreciated. If you like, you can even join me in this!

When I first started working at the Bank in 2011, the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon was one of my main responsibilities. Since then, I've been involved in some way or another with the race. I completed my first half marathon in 2014, and decided I would complete a full marathon before I turn 50. Some minor injuries (and laziness, I admit) intervened, and before I know it, my deadline is about a year away! This year, there may be no start nor finish line to cross, but I can start getting in shape to complete a marathon and tick it off my list.
