"We never see the true state of our condition till it is illustrated to us by its contraries, nor know how to value what we enjoy, but by the want of it." Daniel Defoe, "Robinson Crusoe"
Covid-19 has impacted us all. Some of us have the luxury of "looking on the bright side". We re-orient ourselves in this new world, re-evaluate our goals, values, aspirations. We re-discover, or find new, hobbies, focus more on our mental health, put an effort into striking a better work-life balance.
For many others, though, this "side" will never be as bright as it used to be. There's nothing bright in not having means to provide for your family. There's nothing bright in not having access to medical care. There's nothing bright in being a migrant worker trapped hundreds of miles from your nearest and dearest. There isn't a darker place than the void left by a premature death of your beloved daughter or son, mother or father, sister or brother.
Support me as I run 5 * Half Marathons (5 * 21.1 km) over the next 5 weeks as part of Standard Chartered Home Run to help those less fortunate of us brighten the dark patches that the Covid-19 has left in their lives.
I hope you can support me with a small donation to my page. This is of course voluntary, and any gesture will be very much appreciated.
