Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jul 2021, 11:59 PM

The vulnerable and marginalised in society are precious, and all of us should take advantage of every available opportunity to do what little we can to help. I was so surprised that in the midst of my frustration and languishing due to Covid restrictions, the decision to pick up a new hobby has brought me a sense of achievement and joy. I would like to encourage the youth of today -- don't let circumstances dictate your life. Be flexible, adapt, and have hope that tomorrow will be better. Most of all, learn something new! It is a gift that will never be wasted. Please donate generously to the work by Lakeside Family Services. I applaud their many initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the youth in Singapore.

About Campaign

Do you remember what your dreams were when you were a child? As children, our futures lie limitless in the horizon - and we all have dreams that we can do or be something great. Yet, life circumstances like financial difficulties and family issues mean many children and youths are disadvantaged from the start.

We named our fundraiser #ICAN____ to encourage all children and youths to fill in the blank with their dreams and aspirations and uncover their unique potential and talents.

One of our campaign ambassadors, Smitha will be embarking on her personal challenge:#ICANSparkImagination challenge. For 7 days, she will be unlocking the imagination of children at our Lakeside Student Care through teaching speech and drama and writing. Stay tuned as we share other upcoming challenges by our campaign Ambassadors!

#ICAN____ raises funds for Lakeside's children & youth services: Lakeside Student Care, Reading Intervention Services, The GRIT Project. With your support, we can provide meaningful opportunities, mentorship, and practical assistance for children and youths.

You can make a difference in their lives by donating and starting your own #ICAN____ challenge to raise funds! Together, we hope to raise $300,000 and any amount will be greatly appreciated.
