Our Campaign Story

ends 31 Jan 2021, 11:59 PM

During the festive seasons, we have a diverse list of gifting options. This year I've decided to gift by giving. I'm running a fundraising campaign and I hope for your support. Maybank's Heart of Singapore (#HeartofSG) campaign seeks to unite everyone from different walks of life to empower our communities in need.

To double the public's efforts, Maybank will match donations raised dollar-for-dollar up to S$180,000 for the 5 supported charities under the #HeartofSG campaign!

As an athletics coach, I've encountered many healthy young children engaging into sports activities all these years. I've also seen competitive athletes with sheer determination training for major games. Let's not take our body for granted, take a step back, remind ourselves and help those ppl who are in need.

SPD aims to promote public understanding of disabilities and break down social barriers among persons with and without disabilities.

Come join me in trying to hit my goal of S$2,000! Three of my top donors will be picked to have a one hour personal training session with me! Simply send over a screenshot of your donation receipt as proof to [email protected]! They are counting on your support, so LET'S DO THIS!

About the Society for the Physically Disabled (SPD):
4,000 children were diagnosed with special developmental needs every year in 2015 and this number is likely to go up. Additionally, approximately 3% of the resident population has some form of disabilities according to existing government data. SPD aims to promote public understanding of disabilities and break down social barriers among persons with and without disabilities.

The #HeartofSG campaign is in line with Maybank's mission to Humanise Financial Services, shining a spotlight on those in need as they weather the onslaught of Covid-19. Maybank is dedicating donations to ELF for President's Challenge 2020 because their programmes reach out to disadvantaged groups in the areas of skills upgrading, capacity building and employment.

About The Charity

The President's Challenge is an annual community outreach and fundraising campaign for charities selected every year by the President's Office. It is a call to all Singaporeans in doing their part in building a more caring and inclusive society.

Initiated in 2000 by former President S R Nathan, the Challenge represents the coming together of people from all walks of life, to help the less fortunate. In 2012, under the leadership of former President Tony Tan Keng Yam, the Challenge was expanded to go beyond fundraising by including volunteerism and social
entrepreneurship.

In 2018, President Halimah Yacob announced a $10 million fund (Empowering For Life Fund) which will empower vulnerable groups through skills upgrading, capacity-building and employment. Visit http://www.pc.org.sg/WhoWeSupport to find out about the benefiting organisations supported by President's Challenge this year. 100% of the donations received go towards the charities we support.
