Our Campaign Story
ends 30 Sep 2022, 11:59 PMFor Mdm Thambyrajah Manonmani, life is nourished by the simple things in life - a cherished kinship with close family and the enjoyment of good food. Unfortunately, the onset of dementia brought shifts in the personality and demeanour of the octogenarian. When the once-gentle soul uncharacteristically began exhibiting behaviours of concern, her loved ones became worried.
Mdm Thambyrajah was later placed under the care of St Luke's ElderCare Residence @ Ang Mo Kio. In this homely living space, she and the staff progressively got to know one another. She would often proclaim her adoration for her dear family and reminisce about the days when she would cook meals for her late husband.
Today, Mdm Thambyrajah continues to participate in cognitive activities at the residence. She also looks forward to the community integration programme, during which she enjoys the sights and sounds that the neighbourhood offers, as well as her favourite treat - classic crispy prata paired with fish curry.
Speaking of her experience at her second home, she shares, "I feel comfortable here. All the staff are friendly and they care for me." Her niece, Usha Rani, agreed. "Their exceptional care and inexhaustible patience in managing my aunt can only be rewarded by God Himself. I couldn't have asked for a better Home for my aunt."
Your contribution will provide support for elders like Mdm Thambyrajah, and help us continue building a Home Away from Home experience at St Luke's ElderCare Residence.
