Our Campaign Story

ends 07 Oct 2020, 11:59 PM

As part of the Citi-YMCA Youth-For-Causes 2020 initiative, Team Populum Sitas which is part of PRISM, SJI's social enterprise club, presents our 2020 online fundraising cooking show - Cook.Give.Heart. This show will be available for download and viewing from 7th September to 21st September 2020.

The cooking show will be hosted by Singapore's acclaimed celebrity chef, Ms Violet Oon, showcasing 2 desserts: Sago Pudding Gula Melaka and Kueh Pisang. All proceeds from this event will be donated to Make-A-Wish Foundation Singapore - to raise funds for Shadi, a teenager diagnosed with Germ Cell Cancer.

Shadi's courage and perseverance touched our hearts. Going through medical treatments, Shadi can't go out as often as he would like so he usually invites friends to gather at his place. But it was very cramped! Hence, his wish is to have a room makeover. We aim to raise $10000 and all proceeds will go towards covering the cost of Shadi's wish.

Having his friends visit and support him has deeply encouraged Shadi to fight and overcome his cancer. Cancer steals a childhood, a wish brings back some hope and positivity for the child. Currently, at point of writing, Shadi is still in the hospital.

The link to access the cooking show is available from 7th September onwards. It will be sent to you starting from 7th September or within 24 hours of your donation after 7th September, with a minimum amount of $10. Please do not select the anonymous option during the donation process.
