Our Campaign Story
ends 05 Jun 2022, 11:59 PMCelebrate the achievements of women of all ages! This International Women's Day, we honor the women in our lives for their unwavering support and unconditional love.
Over the past 5 years, Aunty Cheng Ker has been attending programmes run by YEAH!. Known for her friendliness and humor, Aunty Cheng Ker often assists in the little ways she can. From pre-activity set up to post-activity cleanup, Aunty Cheng Ker is always there to help. Her acts of kindness do not go unnoticed as other seniors fondly call her the 'class monitor'. A keen learner, Aunty Cheng Ker attends various programs and activities conducted at Yong-en Active Hub; from fitness to handicraft, in-person or on Zoom, Aunty Cheng Ker tries it all.
In celebration of International Women's Day, Aunty Cheng Ker has specially designed and styled 10 dolls, each in a unique hand-beaded dress. Each doll measures approximately 9 cm (L) by 20cm (H) and takes Aunty Cheng Ker 2 days to make.
The first 10 donors with a minimum donation of $68 will receive a doll of your choice, lovingly made by Aunty Cheng Ker.
Your support enables seniors like Aunty Cheng Ker to be meaningfully engaged. Thank you for giving generously.
About The Charity
Yong-en is a registered charity affiliated with Fairfield Methodist Church. Our mission is to demonstrate God's love through person-centred care services to support the needs of the elderly, disadvantaged individuals and families in Chinatown and beyond.
We support our community through:
1) Family Support Service that comprises a combination of providing financial assistance and food distribution to the low income families in the short to medium term; and empowerment projects that need a longer period of intervention (i.e. Tuition and Bursary, Counselling, Support Groups, and Casework).
2) Dementia Day Care that cares for dementia clients and their caregivers;
3) Home Care that cater to the medical and nursing needs of the home bound and frail elderly; and
4) Active Ageing that promotes positive and healthy ageing.
Together with our partners, stakeholders, donors and volunteers, we forge ahead with hope to improving lives and impacting communities.
