Our Campaign Story

ends 23 Mar 2020, 11:59 PM

Hi, I'm Anthony and I turn 21 on the 23rd of February 2020. Please pardon me if this sounds excessively bold or awkward, because this is my first time doing something like this, and I'm not good at expressing myself online. Anyways, 21 is that big milestone age where all the doors to adulthood open up and while I am excited for it, I am also stuck thinking about how to celebrate it. I got an email from Giving.sg titled "#PledgeYourBirthday for Good" which was about how I could pledge my birthday to charity by starting a fundraising campaign.

2020 has just started and yet, a lot of events have happened which serve to remind us of the importance of treasuring our loved ones and the things we have. The spread of COVID-19, the Australian bushfires, the volcano eruption in the Philippines and the death of Kobe Bryant are just a few examples of the events that have shook the world. I took some time to reflect, a bit more time to pay attention to the environment that I'm in and even more time to spend with my family and loved ones.

After all of that, I felt like doing a small part to bring some happiness and positivity in the midst of this tiny bad start to 2020. I wish to do so by starting this campaign and I invite you to join me on this journey to spread some joy and warmth. I thank you for taking the time to read this, and have a great day ahead! :)
