About Campaign
ends 31 Dec 2022, 11:59 PM In 2021, 37 youths from the ages of 10 to 19 years died from suicide. Suicide has been on the rise among the youths - the Samaritans of Singapore (SOS) noted a 7% increase from 2020 to 2021 among 10 to 29 year olds. While mental health awareness has grown in Singapore, we have noticed that awareness does not necessarily translate to help-seeking behavior. Many of our youths face barriers to getting the support they need, and some might not be aware that they have mental health struggles.
Youth mental health is close to our hearts at Calvary Community Care: In 2023, our counselling team will be offering free mental health screenings for youths aged 12-25 years old. Like going to a doctor for a physical health screening, a mental health screening is a preventative intervention can help us to:
1. Identify individuals vulnerable to developing mental health disorders. 2. Refer them to the appropriate services to get the support they need.
We aim to reach 500 youths and, to incentivize as much participation as possible, these youths will receive a $15 Shopee voucher upon completion of the screening. If required, we can provide referrals to relevant services for follow-up care.
OUR GOAL:
- $7500 to incentivize 500 youths to be screened.
- $2500 to get the word out to 70,000 people through social media platforms.
- Total: $10,000.

About the Charity
Calvary Community Care is a registered charity and member of the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) who works with children, youth and seniors.We have been conferred the Institution of a Public Character (IPC) Status since 2012. Our services centers on helping the sandwich groups - those whose needs are not met because they are less visible.
