Calvary Community Care (C3) runs literacy support programmes to help struggling readers develop reading skills before they start school at P1. Some of these children who require such support come from non-English speaking and/or low-income families.

When children do not have a good foundation in English literacy, they enter the education system at a disadvantage right from the start. The literacy support programmes that C3 runs are like a rescue mission; we aspire to rescue these disadvantaged children from the guarantee of academic failure!

The GROW (Gain Reading, Oral and Writing skills) reading support programme has been rewriting the stories of the school experiences of such children over the past decade.

These struggling readers ALL can and want to learn to read, they just need someone to teach them how to do that! Through this sponsorship fundraising project, we are looking for sponsors to support 25 children from low-income families in 2022.

Will you consider joining us in this rescue mission? Your sponsorship and donation of $2,000 will mean one child receives the priceless gift of learning to read. The child will receive: GROW Programme and Holiday activities in 2022 as well as a Birthday gift for his/her birthday. *Donations not in multiples of $2,000 will not go to sponsoring a specific child, but to the pool of funds supporting C3 GROW.
