Our Programmes

Buds Theatre utilises theatre as a vehicle for change, offering targeted programmes, to raise societal issues for a better world. Buds Theatre's current work includes: Asian Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF), the AYTF Residency Programme & Buds Youth Theatre.

1.The Asian Youth Theatre Festival was conceived in 2016 as a vehicle for change. The festival serves as a bridge to connect Asia through performance, dialogue and exchange programmes. The festival held over a four-day period has engaged over 231,253 youths to date.
Current participating nations include: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and Bangladesh.

2.The Asian Youth Theatre Festival's Residency Programme targets youth arts leaders, equipping them with fundamental theatre skills, ways of devising theatre and using theatre as a vehicle for change. It allows them to improve their own organisations, levelling the playing field and establishing new standards to empower the next generation of Asian artists

3. Buds Youth Theatre Programme was created to offer exposure and theatre training to disadvantaged youths, without financial burden.
