About Us

Buds Theatre, aims to use theatre as a vehicle for change, providing a voice for marginalised communities and individuals.

Combining a variety of social welfare organisations together we start to create a new and empowered community committed to change, reaching out beyond specific target audiences and introducing new alternative approaches to build an empathetic and socially conscious approach to living.

Our Programmes

Buds Theatre was conceived in 2007. It was established as a not for profit theatre company, eventually receiving charity status as a platform for young theatre graduates to practice their craft and refine their skills.

Buds Theatre has since gained recognition and respect across the region as an incubator for aspiring young artists and practitioners of excellence.

Buds Theatre Alumni is proudly represented by Physical Theatre Artist, Sharda Harrison, Clicknetworks, Oon Shu An, Banting Movie Star, Gloria Tan, Vasantham Star, Ebi Shankara, Suria Anugerah Star, Sarah Aqilah, Producer Dream Academy, Kelvin John Lim and MOE Theatre Programme Developer and Scholar, Cheryl Lee, and Co Artistic Director of Buds Theatre, Rebecca Lee.

Buds Theatre, has been providing schools with quality education since it's formation in 2007.

Buds Theatre is the founder of Buds Youth Theatre, for youths aged 15 to 23 years.

Co Artistic Director, Claire Devine is an ARTIST MENTOR with STAR, Singapore Teachers Association for the Arts, an initiative of the National Arts Council and MOE.
