As the most common cancer among women in Singapore, almost 2,200 women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year, of which over 400 succumb to the disease.
Every year, our Befriending and Support Group programmes for women with breast cancer and their families impact the lives of over 300 beneficiaries. Almost 20 different activity groups, including BCF Paddlers in the Pink, conduct some 600 classes under Healing Through the Arts, a programme exclusive for breast cancer survivors, that helps strengthen their physical and mental well-being and improve their quality of life.
BCF's extensive community outreach programme to raise breast cancer awareness and breast examinations also includes subsidising almost 15,000 mammogram screenings, especially for low-come Singaporean women, annually.
As a social service agency, BCF needs your help to fund our annual expenditure of approximately $2 million to support our social support programmes and services for our beneficiaries and community to advocate and enable breast examinations and screening. Early detection saves lives, saves breasts.
