About Campaign

Anger issues, anxiety, depression, verbalizing of suicidal thoughts - these are mental health issues in children and youths that I see more prevalent these days.

I work with clients who have difficult emotional management, poor social skills and behavioural challenges. There may be some who display acts of aggression such as throwing of objects which others would perceive to be scary. However, these are often a secondary reaction and it may be due to their inability to express their emotions.

I choose to work with children and youths as I can relate to their struggles. I want to be the advocate for them as their voices are usually dismissed by others, especially for those deemed rebellious and have no one who understand their viewpoint. This narrative becomes them, which they bring to adulthood and manifest into low self-esteem etc.

My greatest joy is helping them gain insights, shift their mindsets and seeing them make significant progress. From clients who say "I don't know" or "I don't care", to believing there is still hope for them. It is heartening to witness the improvements in their lives - learning healthier communication, foster better relationships, as well as seeing them grow in confidence to study hard.

About the Charity

Boys' Town is a charity founded by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel in 1948. We first began as a residential care for war-torn orphans, imparting education and life skills to them. Over the years, we have expanded to provide a continuum of services serving children and youth in-need. Boys' Town's services now include residential care, fostering, youth outreach, adventure therapy and clinical intervention.

Boys' Town serves both boys and girls, from infants to young adults. We help children and youth who come from disadvantaged and disengaged families who may have faced hardship resulting from difficult home situations, financial struggles, abandonment, and abuse. Each year, Boys' Town works with over 1,000 children and youths.

With 73 years dedicated to the social mission, Boys' Town equips the children and youths in need with the skills they need to become socially integrated, responsible and contributing members of society.

All qualifying donations are eligible for 250% tax deduction (if applicable).
