About Campaign

ends 31 May 2022, 11:59 PM
This International Women's Month and beyond, we want to celebrate with AWARE's supporters and encourage them to take action: by donating, or starting a digital fundraiser on our behalf. All donations will go towards AWARE's research, programmes and services for women in need.

As Singapore's premier gender-equality organisation, AWARE's work takes place year-round, of course. However, International Women's Day is an important occasion for allies to rally behind us--with events, partnerships, promotions and donation drives. With #BreakTheBias as the official IWD slogan for 2022, we hope that alongside your donation, you commit to challenging every gender bias in your life: at work or school, at home, in culture and so on. Remember also that these biases may overlap with other facets of identity, including ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, citizenship and more.

Whether you're a long-time champion of gender equality, or just getting started with your feminist journey, we're thrilled to have you on board!

All donations will be matched 40% by the Tote Board!

About the Charity

The Association of Women for Action and Research (AWARE) is Singapore's leading gender equality advocacy organization. AWARE supports and empowers women on an individual basis and seeks to remove all gender-based barriers that prevent individuals in Singapore from developing their potential to the fullest and realizing their personal visions and hopes. It does this in three ways, namely, research and advocacy, education, and providing social services.

In 2016, AWARE won the Charity Governance Award 2016 for the Medium Charities/IPCs category.

The Charity Governance Awards, (CGA), organised by the Charity Council, aim to promote good governance in the charity sector by acknowledging the excelling work of charities, while inspiring others to emulate their best practices.

AWARE qualified as a candidate for the CGA by becoming a winner of the Charity Transparency Awards (CTA). The CTA recognises charities with good disclosure practices.
