Assisi Dinner 2017
About Campaignends 31 Oct 2017, 11:59 PM
At Assisi Hospice, we provide compassionate and personalised palliative care for our patients regardless of race, faith or financial position. About 60 per cent of our patients come from the most needy financial profile. The Assisi Dinner is a key fundraising event which we hope to raise more than a million dollars to allow us to sustain our ability to take care of the terminally ill and their loved ones.
Mr Quek Yee Boey is one of our Home Care patient. He is 73 years old, used to work as a construction worker most of his life and his last job was as a cleaner. He suffers from stage 4 cancer and is on social welfare. He is staying in a one-room rental flat with his brother who works long hours as a security guard. Should his symptoms deteriorate, he would be considered for inpatient care at Assisi Hospice. Your support would ensure that our patients can live their remaining days in comfort and dignity.
Assisi Hospice provides hospice and palliative care to patients with life limiting illnesses, caring for them and their families, regardless of faith, age, race and financial position. A Catholic charity, it believes that compassionate end-of-life care is less about 'waiting for the last day' and more about 'living to the last day'. Patients' symptoms when properly managed allow them to live life comfortably with peace and dignity. Each year, we care for more than 1,000 patients. To meet the growing needs and demands, we are expanding our services and increasing our support in the areas of nursing, medical, counselling, spiritual, social and emotional care, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
