About Us

Our mission is to increase visual art literacy and to promote art appreciation in Singapore by offering an art education programme for primary and secondary school students, art events and presentations in the community, art tours for the public, as well as developing a body of well trained and committed volunteers to serve as art advocates, providing a vital resource in the community.

Art Outreach Singapore was incorporated as an educational non-profit organisation in 2003. We received charity status in October 2004 and was granted Institute of Public Character (IPC) status under the National Arts Council's "Support for the Arts" Central Fund in February 2004.

Our Programmes

Our programmes include:

ARTLink Community Programme
This programme aims to provide opportunities for underprivileged children to develop their creativity, build self-confidence and reach their full potential. It is a series of art appreciation workshops to underprivileged children in Singapore to build social-emotional skills through an inquiry-based discovery of visual art.

Assembly Talks
The "Art Explorers Club Discovers Public Art in Singapore" aims to educate students on prominent artworks by the Public Art Trust, which reflect notions of identity, heritage and nation-building. Students will actively engage with the stories behind the people, places and events that inspired these artworks through dramatization, videos, games and discussions facilitated by Art Outreach trainers.

Art in Transit Tours
Bringing the public and students on tours to experience art in unique dynamic settings such as in the MRT. The journey highlights a series of key artworks created by local artists which reflect the community's cultural and historical heritage.

Art in the City Tours
Our guided tour takes primary school students on a walking trail around the Singapore River, exposing them to public artworks highlighting the past, present and future of the nation. Students embark on a process of exploration through an activity pack with activities developed to deepen their engagement with the artworks.
