About Campaignends 31 Oct 2020, 11:59 PM
In the upcoming 7th edition, SIPF is featuring the works of 50 artists including Kurt Tong (Hong Kong), JR (France), Bob Lee (Singapore), Holycrap (Singapore), and ABC Photography - a collection of images by international photographers for children - to name a few. Canvassing stories by these international artists, SIPF transforms pockets of spaces around Singapore into portals of time and space encapsulated by images. The festival invites everyone to step into a shared world of photography - to create moments and chart journeys as they travel through visual narratives.
SIPF is organised by DECK, an independent arts space for photography (a registered charity under Art Photography Ltd) and a recipient of the National Arts Council's Major Grant Scheme. Since its inauguration in 2008, festival costs are covered by revenue from sales of tickets, programmes, merchandise, corporate sponsorship, public donations from our community.
About the Charity
Art Photography Centre Ltd (APC) is a registered charity (entity no. 201215478E) and a recipient of the National Arts Council's Major Grant from April 2019 to March 2022. APC operates as the arts organisation DECK and is the festival organiser of Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF).
DECK was established in 2014 with the mission of supporting and nurturing the community of photographers and artists in Singapore and Southeast Asia. This modular site acts as a connector between community and photography, and offers a platform for people to celebrate photography in the heart of Singapore. Driven by the belief that photography is for all, it welcomes professionals and amateurs to come together, mingle and be inspired. (www.deck.sg)
Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) is a biennial gathering of minds from around the world with the common pursuit to advance the art and appreciation of photography. It aims to be a much-needed arena for critical thought and academic discourse on photography in Southeast Asia. SIPF will also function as a key platform to discover, nurture, and propel Southeast Asian photographers onto the international stage. Through its satellite programmes, the festival hopes to engage the public and cultivate a larger audience. At the core of SIPF is a firm belief that photography can be enjoyed by all. The upcoming 7th edition of SIPF will take place from 5 November 2020 to 31 January 2021. (www.sipf.sg)
