About Campaign
ends 31 Aug 2021, 11:59 PMOur building on Prinsep Street has done a lot for us since our beginnings in 2014. However, its shipping-container structure has reached the end of its lifespan and will be demolished by March 2021. This leaves us with two options to refit the existing structure or rebuild from ground-up.
As a team, we decided to crowdfund part of the cost for a permanent building that will allow us to stay. This future expanded space will house more showcases, more experimental ideas and provide more opportunities for mid-career and ground-breaking artists.
We see this signalling to a new milestone, beckoning DECK to grow. With a new and permanent space, we can continue to provide an alternative platform with the community at its heart. The permanence of DECK in the future also marks the maturity of our arts community where smaller organisations can co-exist amongst bigger institutions.
As DECK moves into its next phase, we hope you share our belief that an alternative is always possible and the arts can be appreciated through a plurality of approaches.
We believe you can help DECK claim a permanent space for the arts community by contributing to our new building fund.
