The Lunar New Year represents a new year of success and good fortune. But for the seniors, it is a festive season that allows them to spend meaningful time in their golden years with family and friends.

"I hope that in this coming year, I am able to go out with my friends for activities and spend more time together with them," mentioned Mdm Li*, a senior wheelchair service user at COMNET Senior Service.

Many seniors, like Mdm Li*, are dependent on wheelchairs, and thus, they are unable to go out for activities or even for their own medical appointments. As a result, many of them stayed at home often, leading to further isolation, and potentially deterioration of their health.

For Mdm Li*, she often stayed at home due to the lack of provision of wheelchair transportation for activities conducted beyond her neighbourhood. She had also reduced her visits for medical appointments, despite the health requirements due to limited financial capacity to hire suitable transport.

Here at COMNET Senior Service, Mdm Li* had the opportunity to be connected to more activities, being engaged alongside her peers as well as ensuring that she is able to attend her medical appointments.

This is only possible with your support!
