One of the seniors is Mdm Yap*, a 92 year old senior, who participates at COMNET Senior Activity Centre under AMKFSC. Facing difficulties with her family members, Mdm Yap moved out of the house into a one bedroom rental flat and has since been living there for more than 30 years. It had contributed to a higher risk of social isolation for her, which could lead to potential health and safety concerns.
However, with support from COMNET Senior Service (COMNET), she became more positive and active in the community. She participates actively at the centre and would always be helpful to other seniors. Mdm Yap believes that being in the community helps to keep her active and healthy. One of her aspirations is to spread this positivity and inspire others to join in centre activities, exercises and outings, leading an active independent lifestyle.
At COMNET, we aim to help our seniors age actively through meaningful engagement in the community and interaction with others. However, we would not be able to do so without your support.
YOU can help fulfill the aspirations of vulnerable seniors! Donate Now!
