One of the seniors is Mdm Yap*, a 92 year old senior, who participates at COMNET Senior Activity Centre under AMKFSC. She face a higher risk of social isolation for her, which could lead to potential health and safety concerns, with support from COMNET Senior Service (COMNET), she became more positive and active in the community. However, with the current situation where the activity centres are closed, many seniors like Mdm Yap, have been dropping by the centres, asking our colleagues when will she be able to join in activities with her peers.
Mdm Yap believes that being in the community helps to keep her active and healthy. One of her aspirations is to spread this positivity and inspire others to join in-centre activities, exercises and outings, leading an active independent lifestyle.
However, we would not be able to do so without your support, even more so now during the COVID-19 outbreak where seniors faces isolated at home, which would lead to health problems.
We foresee a long recovery journey for these vulnerable seniors due to the outbreak. Help fulfill the aspirations of vulnerable seniors! Help with their long term recovery process through our Annual Charity Bowling Campaign!
