About Campaignends 31 Dec 2016, 11:59 PM
The M1 Peer Pleasure Youth Theatre Festival is a unique platform that nurtures that potential by mentoring youths in the craft of theatre-making, providing opportunities for them to collaborate with their peers to stage productions with important social themes.
Your donation will make it possible for the creation of more original, youth-driven works that showcase their unique perspectives on relevant social issues and contribute to a richer understanding of our world.
For 2017, we are excited to present work by young people from non-profit organisations such as Down Syndrome Association (a devised play on the refugee crisis) and Unsaid Collective (a new play on mental health issues). We are also commissioning an original play by a young playwright, which highlights the struggles of negotiating interracial relationships and identities in modern day Singapore.
We need another $30k to make this all happen next year.
Investing in this process is resource intensive, but the reward is great - we have the power to nurture the next generation of civic and cultural leaders. Join us in making their voices heard.

About the Charity
At ArtsWok, we develop community creatively by adopting arts approaches to tackle thorny social issues, and enabling communities to realise, and tap on their own agency and imagination to create the change they want to see.
We work with communities of all ages, in various settings, and on issues ranging from poverty, end-of-life, governance and nationhood, community building, and the well-being of seniors. We also provide training and thought leadership related to arts-based community development work.
Our collaborators include artists and creatives, community groups, VWOs, schools, hospitals, research and training institutions, cultural institutions, foundations, corporates and government bodies.
