About Campaign

ends 31 Dec 2016, 11:59 PM
We believe that young people have important things to say about the world they live in and drama gives them a powerful language to speak their truth.

The M1 Peer Pleasure Youth Theatre Festival is a unique platform that nurtures that potential by mentoring youths in the craft of theatre-making, providing opportunities for them to collaborate with their peers to stage productions with important social themes.

Your donation will make it possible for the creation of more original, youth-driven works that showcase their unique perspectives on relevant social issues and contribute to a richer understanding of our world.

For 2017, we are excited to present work by young people from non-profit organisations such as Down Syndrome Association (a devised play on the refugee crisis) and Unsaid Collective (a new play on mental health issues). We are also commissioning an original play by a young playwright, which highlights the struggles of negotiating interracial relationships and identities in modern day Singapore.

We need another $30k to make this all happen next year.

Investing in this process is resource intensive, but the reward is great - we have the power to nurture the next generation of civic and cultural leaders. Join us in making their voices heard.
